91 attacks on Ukrainian Army positions in the last 24 hours, 6 soldiers wounded

Today ATO Press Center reported about dramatic increase of cease-fire violations in the East of Ukraine. In total pro-Russian terrorist groups attack Ukrainian positions 91 times in the last 24 hours. Ukraine lost 6 soldiers wounded, no KIA reported. The enemy continued to use weapon banned by Minsk Protocol, such as tanks and 120 and 82 mm artillery.

The situation in the East of Ukraine continues to get worse. In the last 24 hours the amount of attacks on ATO forces has dramatically increased. Russian mercenaries shelled Ukrainian positions 91 times using tanks, mortars of different caliber, machine guns, grenade launchers and small firearms.

Avdiivka village was attacked with the use of 120 and 82 mm artillery 11 times from different directions at the same time, from Mineralne, Yasynuvata and Yakovlivka. Ukrainian soldiers in Shyrokyne were attacked 12 times from the direction of Sakhanka village. Ukrainian Army fortifications near Novotroitske, Talakivka and Pavlopil were also attacked with the use of mortars.

Illegal armed forces used tanks attacking positions of Ukrainian Army in Luhanske, positions there were shelled 15 times with shells of 125 mm caliber.

More than a half of cease-fire violations happened from 17:00 to 24:00 when there are no OSCE observers nearby. Despite the pressure from enemy side, units of ATO forces continue to control the situation. They had to return fire 17 times in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours no Ukrainian soldier was killed. 6 soldiers were wounded. 4 of them were wounded during enemy attacks near Avdiivka, 2 more soldiers were wounded near Novhorodske when the army truck got hit by a road mine.

The reporter Maxim Tucker posted a video last night where you can hear sounds of intensive combat between Ukrainian soldiers and pro-Russian militants who attack Avdiivka village located on goverment-controlled territory of Donetsk Region.

Positioned in “DPR”-controlled Yasynuvata (16km north-east of Donetsk) during the day, the SMM heard a total of 979 undetermined explosions, over 50 bursts of heavy-machine-gun fire and more than 350 shots of small-arms fire, and two bursts of anti-aircraft-gun (ZU-23, 23mm) mostly at locations 500m-3km south-west, west and north-west of its position. Whilst in government-controlled Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk) during the day, the SMM heard 52 explosions and 30 airbursts of 82 and 120mm mortar rounds, five explosions of 152mm artillery fire, 65 impacts of 82 and 120mm mortar rounds, eight impacts of automatic grenade launcher rounds, and intermittent small-arms fire at locations 2-10km north, north-east, east south-east and south of its position.

On 9 April, an SMM patrol, comprised of five members in two armoured vehicles, was in Zhovanka, a government-controlled part of Zaitseve (50km north-east of Donetsk). The patrol was accompanied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces head of the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC) office in Toretsk.

At 12:52hrs, the SMM heard an explosion assessed as caused either by an 82mm mortar or a recoilless gun round impacting at a distance of approximately 100-200m south-east of its position. Within the next two seconds, small-arms shots were fired towards the SMM position coming approximately from the same direction of the impact. The SMM heard at least three-four bullets flying one-two metres above their heads. The SMM immediately took cover behind the vehicles, and then got inside them and left the location. No SMM members were hurt or vehicles damaged. The patrol returned safely to its base in Svitlodarsk at 16:00.

ATO Press Center reported 76 cease-fire violations in the last 24 hours, mostly near Donetsk. 4 Ukrainian soldiers were wounded. Pro-Russian terrorists used 120 and 82 mm artillery banned by Minsk Protocol.

The situation in the East of Ukraine remains difficult and has a tendency to get worse. Russian-terrorist groups shelled 76 times in the last 24 hours. There were 61 attacks in the previous 24 hours. At the same time the enemy used 120 and 82 mm mortars banned by Minsk Agreements.

It most difficult situation was near Donetsk. Despite multiple attacks with the use of grenade launchers, machine guns and small firearms Ukrainian solders defended their positions. They gave no chance for success for the enemy effectively returning the fire.

Avdiivka village remains impregnable for the enemy. Illegal armed forces attacked positions of Armed Forces of Ukraine 22 times in that area. Despite all enemy efforts our soldiers control the situation and are always one step ahead.

Positions of ATO forces were shelled with the use of banned weapon near Luhanske, Zaitseve, Opytne and Pisky. Illegal armed groups were active near Mariupol also attacking positions near Shyrokyne, Vodyane, Lebedynske and Krasnohorivka, the enemy shelled our positions 35 times there using mortars.

The situation in ATO zone remain difficult and has tendency to get worse. In the last 24 hours pro-Russian armed groups attacked forces of ATO 44 times. Militants used heavy artillery in addition to mortars. Despite 4 attacks on our positions with the use of 122 mm artillery soldiers of Armed Forces of Ukraine defended their positions in Zaitseve and Mayorsk.

Avdiivka village remains most difficult location on the map near Donetsk. Here the enemy failed to push back ATO forces from their positions despite the use of various type of weapon.

In the last 24 hours following villages were attacked by criminal groups: Luhanske, Novhorodske, Mayorsk, Zaitseve, Leninske, Pisky, Opytne, Shyrokyne, Troitske, Mariinka.

Near Lugansk militants tried to storm fortifications of Armed Forces of Ukraine using small firearms. The enemy had to retreat after Ukrainian warriors returned fire.

Yesterday at about 10 pm pro-Russian militants shelled Avdiivka village located near occupied Donetsk using mortars. 2 private houses were damaged. Today in the morning at 7:45 the attacked with mortars repeated. Civilian people were inside houses during attacks, luckily nobody got wounded. Shrapnel damaged the roof, fence, gates, windows were broken.

ATO Press Center reported 11 cease-fire violations in Donetsk Region in the last 12 hours. Ukrainian Army fortifications near Shyrokyne were also attacked at night.

Starting from 18:00 yesterday and till 6:00 pro-Russian mercenaries violated cease-fire agreement 11 times along the contact line. At 20:20 the enemy was shelling out fortifications near Shyrokyne for half an hour.

Also the enemy sporadically shelled our positions near Mayorske, Avdiivka, Luhanske, Pisky and Krasnohorivka using grenade launchers, high caliber machine guns and small fire arms. Since the distance between out positions and the enemy was pretty big and they didn’t attempt to get close to fortifications of military units of Armed Forces of Ukraine, our soldiers didn’t return the fire.

As it was reported on a briefing today by Col. Andriy Lysenko, speaker of President Administration on ATO, in the last 24 hours 1 Ukrainian soldier was killed and 3 soldiers were wounded.

Terrorists starting from 18:50 and till 00:30 were using grenade launchers, high caliber machine guns and small firearms. Cease-fire was violated 12 times. Shelling were dine from the direction of Chemical and Cement plants, Spartak area and old terminal of Donetsk Airport, Shyroka Balka and Putilovskiy Forest.

Yesterday pro-Russian terrorists attacked Ukrainian Army checkpoint in Lugansk Region, 3 soldiers were wounded.

At about 15:00 checkpoint in Tryokhizbenka village of Lugansk Region was attacked with the use of automatic grenade launchers. As a result of that 3 soldiers of 92nd separate mechanized brigade were wounded. Two of them got medical help right there and the third one was delivered to the hospital in Severodonetsk city.

ATO Press Center also reported that on November 3 terrorists starting from 6:07 am were shelling at Ukrainian positions using small fire arms and automatic grenade launchers near Avdiivka, Opytne and Pisky in Donetsk Region. Enemy sniper was shooting at Avdiivka.

Ukrainian commanders got permission to return the fire.

In general from 6 am till 6 pm terrorists violated cease-fire 9 times.

ATO Press Center reports that from 19:40 to 20:10 terrorists were shelling Ukrainian positions on the South of Avdiivka with the use of grenade launchers, machine guns of big caliber and small firearms. After that the night in the zone of Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) was quiet.

In Mariupol direction artillery of a caliber less than 100 mm will be withdrawn according to the plan. Military engineers continue to demine the territory along the contact line.

ATO Press Center: 106 attacks on Ukrainian Army positions in Donetsk and Lugansk Regions.

During the night the situation in ATO zone got much worse. Russian-terrorists troops were shelling Ukrainian positions near Donetsk starting from 6 pm till midnight non-stop. In total in the last 24 hours illegal armed groups broke cease-fire agreement 106 times. 78 times of Minks Agreements violations were registered near Donetsk. After midnight on August 7 terrorists continued their attacks in Donetsk Region.

At about 8 pm yesterday terrorists shelled Avdiivka twice using 122 mm artillery. Starting from 10 pm the enemy attacked ATO forces positions in Opytne 4 times using tanks and 3 times shelled at Avdiivka. From 6 pm till midnight the enemy shelled Ukrainian fortifications in Pisky 7 times using 120 mm mortars and at about 11 pm they shelled Pisky using 122 mm artillery.

From 7:25 pm till 9 pm there was a fight between Ukrainian forces and the enemy near Krasnohorivka village. A group of terrorists, about 20 men, were trying to storm Ukrainian fortification using automatic weapon and 120 mm mortars. The enemy retreated as a result of the fight.

In Artyomovsk direction, at night positions of ATO forces in Sanzharivka and Zolote were shelled by 120 mm mortars.

From 10:05 pm till 10:25 pm the enemy violated Minsk Agreements and shelled Troitske village using MRLS BM-21 “Grad”.

It was relatively quiet near Mariupol. During the night terrorists used automatic weapon twice near Chermalyk trying to provoke Ukrainian soldiers.

ATO Press Center: 80 attacks on Ukrainian Army positions in Donetsk and Lugansk Regions.

In the last 24 hours there were about 80 shelling on positions of Anti-Terrorist Operation forces in Donetsk and Lugansk Regions. Russian mercenaries were trying to storm Ukrainian fortifications twice. This happened near Shchastya city and Avdiivka.

Yesterday starting from 6 pm till midnight terrorists were shelling at Ukrainian positions near Krasnogorivka, Avdiivka, Pershe Travnya, Mayorks, Mykilayvka, Mariinka from artillery systems and mortars. And there was gunfire in other areas.

Positions of ATO forces near Shchastya were attacked at about 4:30 pm, terrorists used 120 mm and 82 mm mortars and a tank. The group of pro-Russian terrorists had about 100 men. The fight continued for almost 3 hours. The enemy retreated with casualties.

At 20:20 near Avdiivka a group of about 30 terrorists tried to storm Ukrainian fortifications. The attacked was pushed back and terrorists retreated.

Ukrainian forced didn’t have any casualties in battles near Shchastya and Avdiivka.

Today on July 29 before 6 am there were artillery attacks on ATO forces near Stepne, Novozvanivka, Troitske, Mykolaivka, Popasna.
