Security Service together with border guards located illegal oil pipeline in Lugansk Region used by smugglers who transported fuel from Russia to Ukraine.
The pipeline was 100 mm diameter and was going from Russian village Chertkovo 2 meters deep underground. This time criminals didn’t use stationed reservoirs to accumulate fuel, they used “mobile oil tankers” instead.
Officers of Security Service found out that during the night several vehicles were coming to the pipeline from both sides. Using pumps they transported fuel to Ukrainian territory and it was taken away by trucks. They could smuggle about 20-30 tons of fuel in 24 hours. Police dismantled underground oil pipeline.
