Starting from last night and till Saturday morning today terrorists were shelling at Stanytsya Luhanska using mortars, automatic weapon and anti-tanks guided missiles. The most intense fire was from 20:30 till midnight. One of the ATGM hit the ground, but didn’t blow up near Administration building. Two private houses got burnt after direct hit. Local resident, a woman, who was outside at that moment on Donetska St. got killed.

The town of Stanytsya Luhanska and 8 villages nearby has no electric power, no water supply and problems with phone connection. The forces of State Service of Emergency Situations were sent there to provide electric power for important infrastructure using power generators and they should bring water to local people.

Ukrainian soldiers didn’t have any casualties. The enemy continued to use drones.

Reported by ATO center at ato.lisichansk.in.ua

Terrorists started to use MRLS trying to destroy infrastructure in Ukraine controlled part of Lugansk Region.

On Tuesday night at about 3am terrorists of so-called Lugansk People’s Republic used “Grad”  MRLS to shell Karbonit village near Zolote city. Rockets landed on the territory of “Popasnavoda” company provides water supply for the area of Popasna and also sends water to occupied territories. Water pumps, transformer substation and other equipment worth about 3 million UAH was seriously damaged. Workers who were there didn’t get wounded or killed. At the same time terrorists also shelled at Borove village also using “Grad” MRLS, there are wells that are used for water supply of Popasna area.

Four wells were damaged. Water supply to several directions including occupied Pervomaisk city was stopped.

This was attack on infrastructure located on Ukraine controlled territory. Lugansk Region didn’t have such serious shelling since the beginning of the year. The situation on the demarcation line at night was terrible!

– Hennadiy Moskal, the head of Lugansk Region.

Today most of the water pumps of “Popasnavoda” company in Karbonit village were fixed. The work of the station is restored. All villages of Popasna area on Ukraine controlled territory of Lugansk Region got water supply.

Power supply equipment damaged

Power supply equipment damaged

In total about 10 rockets of MRLS blew up on the territory of the station. One of the rockets hit the roof of the technical building, another rocket damaged lifting gear. The oil transformer was destroyed, it was providing power supply for the water pumps.

We were able to fix all the damage fast and restart the station, the situation didn’t get to critical stage. This water station is located on the demarcation line, often saboteur groups get here and set up landmines. And when we arrive here today, the military located anti-tank mine hidden in the grass just few meters from the road. The mine was neutralized, the station works and supplies water for our villages.

– Hennadiy Moskal.

Compared to last night the situation in Lugansk Region was quiet tonight. The enemy didn’t stop fire completely, there were fights and shelling almost all the way along the demarcation line, Stanytsia Luhanska, Shchastya, Krymske, Katerynivka, Troitske and Bahmutka road. There were no serious damage, no civilian or military got killed or wounded.

Pontoon bridge was built in Troitske, terrorists blew up road bridge over Luhanka River there last Saturday, so cargo trucks and cars can go there now. So the village was unblocked and the cargo supply was renewed.

New details of the shelling of Bobrove village on Tuesday night. In total there were 35 rockets of MRLS that landed there, some rockets exploded in the residential area. As the result of the night shelling 8 houses were seriously damaged, some got destroyed, on two streets. Luckily nobody got killed or wounded.

Ukrainian drone confirmed concentration of Russian troops in Lugansk. 63 tanks detected in 2 hours flight.

Intelligence unit of Ukrainian Army Regiment “Dnipro-1″ published a video recorded by the drone that was flying over Lugansk. In 2 hours flight they confirmed concentration of Russian troops on the East of Ukraine. They checked several bases and found 63 tanks, 32 APCs and 96 military trucks.

“Dnipro-1″ used “Leleka-100″ UAV, that is Ukrainian drone manufactured by design department “DeViRo”. The video was recorded on June 6 2015.

1st stop of the drone was at 48.597967, 39.176593 There is military training ground there near Oleksandrivsk (also spelled as Aleksandrovsk), that was a location of Ukrainian army unit # 3035. That base is if frequently used by terrorists for their exercises. The drone spotted 24 tanks, 12 BMP (APC), 14 BTR (APC) and 11 “URAL” military trucks.

Ukrainian drone was also flying over the city center in the middle of the day and that was Saturday. The city is not damaged, but there are no people and very little traffic. Before Russian invasion Lugansk was very busy place with traffic problems in the center like any other big city around the world. About 500 000 people were living in Lugansk before 2014.

Pro-Russian rebels APC smashed a cafe in Lugansk. 4 people got killed.

Today at about 18:40 an APC (aka BMP infantry fighting vehicle) with pro-Russian rebels lost control in one of the streets of Lugansk and smashed a cafe. Only two hours later the emergency service was able to get 4 bodies out. 2 people were wounded. At 22:08 they managed to take APC out with the help of a crane.

People who got killed were sitting at the tables outside in front of a cafe, wounded people were inside the building that was also damaged. There were 2 APCs, but another one left the place of an accident, they were driving at high speed ignoring traffic lights. A crowd of about hundred people immediately was there. Some of the locals were angrily screaming at the terrorists who got to the place and secured the area. But there were a lot of militia on army trucks, so there were no protests, people were just watching. No OSCE observers have been seen at the place.

Lugansk is currently under control of so-called Lugansk People’s Republic. Ukrainian government considers this part of Ukraine as a territory of Lugansk Region occupied by Russian forces.

Russian GRU soldier Yerofeyev identified on a video taken in Lugansk, Ukraine in January 2015.

On May 16 Ukrainian military wounded and captured 2 Russian GRU soldiers 20km from Lugansk near Shchastya city. A group of Russian special forces servicemen came close to Ukrainian fortification line as they had information that the positions were left by Ukrainian Army and they were going to check if that was so. They were spotted and in a short fight killed one Ukrainian soldier and were wounded trying to retreat. The captured Russian soldiers are Aleksandr Aleksandrov and Yevgeniy Yerofeyev. Read interview of Aleksandrov recorded at the hospital in Shchastya here “I am a soldier of Russian Federation”. Full translation of the video of Russian POW published by Ukrainian soldier.

Russian GRU soldier Yevgeniy Yerofeyev identified on a video recorded in Lugansk on Jan 12 2015

In January 2015 we posted a video of Russian special forces servicemen in Lugansk, their military trucked parked in the center of Lugansk near the central market, they got out and passed by operator. Read details here Russian Army unit moving in the center of Lugansk equipped with “AS Val” assault riffles Captain of GRU Yevgeniy Yerofeyev was also recorded on this video. The video was taken on Jan 12 2015.

After Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov were captured there were taken to a hospital in Kiev. On May 19 2015 Security Service of Ukraine posted a video of Yerofeyev where he gives explanation about who he is, how he got to Ukraine and how he was captured. The video is available with English subtitles

As you can see in the video Yerofeyev claims that he can’t remember when he got to Ukraine and says that was in April. Well… that’s not true. When he answers a question about his arrival to Lugansk, he makes a pause. That’s typical when somebody is lying as you need to think what to say. When you are saying the truth you just say it straight without thinking.

Later on May 22 2015 Yerofeyev gave interview to Russian news agency “Novaya Gazeta”. See the video below.

Yerofeyev has high military rank “Captain” in Russian military intelligence. So he knows what to say and what not to say and he understands the situation very well. More likely he was stationed in Lugansk for a long time, meeting Russian special forces groups coming for rotation and showing them around. You can watch the video taken in Lugansk below with Yerofeyev and other Russian soldiers.

Putin Ghost Army in Ukraine. Meet Viktor Shaforostov, Russian Special Forces soldier who captured Council of Ministers of Crimea.

We managed to identify another Russian Special Forces soldier who took part in attack on Council of Ministers of Crimea on February 27 2014. His name is Viktor Shaforostov, born on October 23 1992 in Novorossiysk, Russian Federation. His unit number is 61756, his squad name is “Intelligence Squad of Division”, he is a paratrooper of 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division. He is a close friend of another Russian soldier Ramenskiy Stanislav who attacked Council of Ministers of Crimea building in Simferopol, Crimea on the same day. They both are Russian regular army soldiers, part of Putin “Ghost Army”. Read our investigation report about Ramenskiy Stanislav here http://lugansk-news.com/russian-neo-nazi-identified-as-paratrooper-who-took-part-in-crimea-annexation/

The photo above was posted on March 4 2014 by Ukrainian Internet news agency here http://novosti-n.org/news/read/65898.html It may seem impossible to identify someone by such photos, but it is actually possible if you dig in right direction.

Here is a link to a profile of Viktor Shaforostov https://vk.com/id37200125 We were lucky to find him when we analyzed the list of friends of another Russian Special Forces soldier Ramenskiy Stanislav (aka “Svyatoslav Mudry”), Ramenskiy already deleted his profile after it became public. But all information was copied and saved.

There is no doubt this is Viktor Shaforostov. 1st, the pattern on the shoulder strap is identical, 2nd, the length and the way the helmet straps are adjusted are identical and the 3rd is the symbol of the bat. The bat is the symbol of Russian military intelligence units. This photo is important as it proves that he was there on March 4 2014 or earlier, more likely the photo was taken the day when the building was captured. Shaforostov also found his photo posted in the Internet and uploaded to his profile, see screenshot below.

Russian neo-nazi identified as paratrooper who took part in Crimea annexation.

We identified Russian Army military unit that captured the building of Council of Ministers of Crimea in Simferopol on February 27 2014 at 4:30am. That was 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division, see details about this unit at Wikipedia here And it appears that the paratrooper of this unit who took part in that military operation belongs to one of neo-nazi groups in Russia. His name is Ramenskiy Stanislav. His special forces unit #61756 is part of Russian military intelligence. On April 14 2014 he received a medal “For the return of the Crimea”.

During the investigation of Russian Army involvement in the military conflict on the East of Ukraine our team has located social profile of Stanislav Ramenskiy https://vk.com/mixmake. He is using nickname “Svyatoslav Mudry”. The photo above was taken right after the building of Council of Ministers of Crimea was captured by heavily armed military unit without any identification marks. The building behind Ramenskiy was identified as the building of Council of Ministers of Crimea. He uploaded that photo only on July 6 2014 few months after the annexation of Crimea by Russian Federation. The photo is in high resolution 2560 × 1714.

On July 16 2014 Stanislav Ramenskiy uploaded a photo of a medal he received from the Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation. In the document it says that the order was issued on April 14 2014. The medal says “For the returning of Crimea”. The order is signed by the commander of his military unit #61756 Maj.-Gen. V.Solodchuk. The full name of the unit is 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division. Valeriy Solodchuk is the commander of that division since 2012. Military unit #61756 is stationed in Novorossiysk. You can see it marked on Wikimapia here The photo of the medal is also in high res 2560 × 1920

In the comments to the photo he wrote “Finally I got it. Thanks a lot”. The symbol on the medallion is used by ultra-right groups in Russia that positions themselves as pagans, but who are actually are neo-nazi.

There are many other Russian special forces soldiers who took part in military actions in Ukraine and who are already identified. But this one is very ironic. Russian neo-nazi who joined Russian Army and went to “liberate” Crimea posting photos of his medal he got from Putin for the military operation that Kremlin did deny for over a year.

Russian soldiers in Ukraine with modern 9K338 Igla-S (SA-24) SAM. Geo-located near Donetsk.

Ukrainian investigative reporters of InformNapalm.org published new proof of Russian regular army soldiers taking part in a military conflict on the East of Ukraine. The military unit of the soldier was identified. That is 205th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. There is also a photo of him with modern 9K338 Igla-S (SA-24) SAM taken near Donetsk. That type of surface-to-air missile is manufactured in Russia and never been used by Ukrainian Army. The place where the photo was taken was also geo-located.

Sergey Polkanov, Russian soldier with Igla-S (SA-24) SAM near Donetsk in Ukraine.

Sergey Polkanov uploaded this photo to his profile on October 7, 2014. Here is a link to his profile https://vk.com/id271294630 He hasn’t been online since May 15, 2015, so there is a big chance that he has been killed in one of the battles on the East of Ukraine.

One of our readers from Donetsk recognized the place you can see in the background of the photo and gave us exact coordinates. We used the help of 2 independent experts in geo-location in order to confirm that the information was correct. Special thanks to Ukraine@war. This photo of Sergey Polkanov was taken at these coordinates 48.002345, 37.944311 you can see here on Google Map

The photo of the same place with those coordinates is available here http://www.panoramio.com/photo/37656023 This is an old coal mine “Glubokaya” (“Глубокая” – in Russian it means “deep”) located in the suburbs of Donetsk (between Donetsk and Makeevka).

We took 4 buildings and marked them in the photos and on the map. Below is step by step method used to confirm geo-location.

Step 1. Zoom in and mark objects that can be seen in the photo of Russian soldier.

Step 2. Zoom in and mark same objects on the panoramic photo at the same coordinates.

Step 3. Put marks on the map. We also put the location of the soldier on the map and the view angle that we analyzed.

On the photo below we also marked the position of this Russian soldier on panoramic picture. The red arrow points to the visible angle that we analyzed.

So there is no doubt that the photo of this soldier was taken in Ukraine close to Donetsk. The weapon used by this soldier was identified as 9K338 Igla-S (SA-24) SAM, that’s the latest model of that type of SAM and Ukraine never had it, so it could only arrive from Russia. The easiest way to identify it is the battery. It is marked #6 in the scheme below.

On March 13 2015 he uploaded a photo of the medal that he got from the Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation. According to this document the order was issued on December 10 2014. In the order you can see his military unit #74814. The order is signed by the commander of his brigade Maj.-Gen. Yuriy Donskikh. The full name of his brigade is “205th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade”. Yuriy Donskikh is the commander of this Brigade since 2012. You can see more details about this Brigade on Wikipedia here Obviously this was reward for his “service” in military operations on the East of Ukraine and this is another proof that Regular Russian Army units are fighting in Donetsk and Lugansk Regions against Ukrainian Army.

The photo of the medal he got also had geo-location tag that links to Novocherkassk very close to Ukrainian border.

On March 13 2015 he uploaded the last photo also with geo-location mark. It is Oktyabrsky District, Rostov Region in Russia, also close to Ukrainian border. There is big military training ground there at these coordinates 47.517141, 40.228856. See it on Google Map here. On March 10 2015 it was reported on the local news website of Shakhty city that people heard explosions http://www.shahty.ru/news/news_8403.html As it is explained in the news article there were military exercises with the use of heavy artillery, tanks and infantry units. This means that Sergey Polkanov was not vacation, he was in Ukraine near Donetsk with modern Russian weapon during the military conflict in 2014, got a medal in December 2014 and continues to serve in the Russian Army taking part in military training in Russia on the ground close to Ukrainian border.
