The decision to ban traffic was probably made by Moskal after he found out that a lot of cargo trucks illegally pass by Ukrainian Army checkpoints and go to occupied territory of Lugansk Region. On May 11 he found cargo trucks in a village on demarcation line, read more at http://lugansk-news.com/the-head-of-lugansk-region-moskal-stopped-11-cargo-trucks-that-were-trying-to-get-to-occupied-lugansk-illegally/

Moskal went to Rodyna village and didn’t warn police or military about his trip, when he got there he found 11 cargo trucks, that were there on different streets. The trucks had registration of Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, Poltava and other regions, some of them had signs “EMPTY”. They were full of sunflower oil, tomatoes, cookies, cat and dog food and so on and they were waiting for an opportunity to go to occupied territory. Some drivers run away when they saw the head of Lugansk Region, several drivers were stopped by Moskal. After that he called for police and military from checkpoints in order to find out how cargo trucks got to the demarcation line despite the ban of cargo trucks traffic to occupied territories.

Later the video was also publish. In the video Moskal is very angry at the military who let the trucks pass by checkpoints.

This village is the last Ukraine controlled point of Lugansk Region and it’s constantly shelled by terrorists and it must be completely blocked for illegal transportation. And it became a busy road for businessmen who trade with terrorists. Villagers complain that because of checkpoints bread and other food doesn’t get to local shops, the school can’t provide food for children, because suppliers can’t get food there, but at the same time there are cargo trucks around school with dozens of tons of food for so-called Lugansk People’s Republic! I repeat again, there can be no business with terrorists without support from our military who are controlling checkpoints, who  follow the rules when it’s about regular people, but let the cargo trucks with alcohol, cigarettes, food and dog food to pass to so-called Lugansk People’s Republic. Our country spends huge amount of money to build fortifications in order to stop the enemy, but what’s the point in these fortifications if dozens of trucks can go through the front line without any problem and they can be used to transport terrorists with ammo on the way back?! Remember the tragedy in Budyonovsk in 1995 when dozens of hostages were killed when terrorists came to the city with a lot of weapon and captured the hospital and that was possible only thanks to corrupted Russian military and police. We will never win the war if we don’t eliminate corruption among our military and police. Some of them already forgot who shoot their brothers in arms. Last night on Monday only in Stanytsia Luhanska two soldiers and one civilian were wounded…

1980 balloons of Ukrainian flag colors sent to the sky in Starobilsk with wishes of peace to all Ukrainian people

Starobilsk city in Lugansk Region is one of the places of peace and stability in the area close to the front line. Few dozens kilometers from here the land is regular shelled. Pro-Russian terrorists intoxicated by false ideas are shelling not only Ukrainian Army positions, but residential areas as well. Although schools, hospitals and shops are working in the city and young women are walking along the streets and children are playing without fear, the echo of war still can be seen here. Soldiers of Sector “A” of Anti-Terrorist Operation secure certain places, patrolling the streets and sometimes you can see military vehicles. But still there is peace here and the city is quiet!

Local people feel that and they got together on the central square of Starobils on May 8. Schoolchildren took part in a flash-mob. They sent to the sky balloons of Ukrainian flag colors wishing peace and harmony to all Ukrainian people.

One thousand children took part in this event. 1980 blue and yellow balloons, colors of Ukrainian flag, went to the sky. Representative of National Records Registry of Ukraine Lana Vetrova was there.

The previous record belongs to Kiev children who got together in the center of the city and sent 1300 balloons to the sky last year at the time when Crimea was already annexed and the war in Donbass started. Now children of Lugansk Region set new records that will be in National Book of Records of Ukraine. Let’s hope that all those warm and sincere wishes of young Ukrainians will come true.

– Lana Vetrova

Young people of Starobilsk not only wrote the letters with wishes themselves, but they also got letters from children from the cities of Khmelnytsiy and Kovel and other places from West of Ukraine. There were about 3000 letters in total. One of the letters says: “Hello! I wish that MRLS GRAD never shelled and peace started. I wish nobody hurt our tired land! It’s not really important what city you are from, we have one country – Ukraine!”

A lot of boys and girls were dressed in national clothes. There was also patriotic concert. 12 y.o. girl Yaroslava Vinnyk says that she and her friends were waiting for this moment. They were collecting letters together with teachers and were preparing concert program. She is happy that she could take part in this event that unites Ukraine. She hopes that she will not only correspond with her new friends from the Western Ukraine, but will be glad to visit them.

Military were also there. They enjoyed the performance and watched the concert made by young people of Lugansk Region.

What we saw today proves that the future of our country belongs to young generation. They will choose who to communicate with and what language to speak and what future they see for themselves. I am glad that the future is for Ukraine. And out mission is to protect and give them renewed and free Motherland.

Katerynivka is the last village of Lugansk Region that officially became part of Ukraine controlled territory. It is located behind demarcation line, after the last Ukrainian checkpoint, so at night terrorist come there from time to time, locals report seeing them. Obviously one of the saboteur groups set the mine and activated it when the armored vehicle with Ukrainian soldiers was passing by.

I was visiting Katerynivka one month ago, on April 5, in order to make a decision to make this village officially part of Ukraine controlled territory. Our deligation was accompanied by APC from the last Ukrainia checkpoint. Military wanted to come with us themselves, as they knew that terrorists can enter the village. That time they protected us, but now didn’t protect themselves, unfortunatelly. They died as heroes defending the sovereignty of Ukraine, so people should remember them forever!

One more village of Lugansk Region comes back to Ukraine authorities control.

Orihove village (see on Google Map here) located near Ukrainian Army checkpoint #25 on Bahmutka road got lost “between Heaven and Earth” in legal sense. There is no it’s own Village Council, and legally it belongs to Holubivske Village Council occupied by terrorists of so-called Lugansk People’s Republic.

Despite the fact that Orihove is located on the right side of Bahmutka road (demarcation line goes on that road in many places), closer to occupied territory, this village remains under Ukraine control. The head of Regional Military-Civil Administration Hennadiy Moskal brought humanitarian aid (food sets), inspected social infrastructure and talked to local villagers.

Moskal in Orihove village

There are about 300 people living in the village, most of them are retired. When terrorists were shelling checkpoint #25, a lot of shells hit Orihove, and locals are sure that terrorists shelled them on purpose. So the village is for Ukraine. Now there are several problems in Orihove that should be solved as soon as possible. 1st of all that’s delivery of pensions, money will be brought directly to the village from now on. 2nd is school renovation that was build during Tsar Times in 1910. We will give money from Regional Budget to fix the roof and replace windows. And the 3rd is official registration of Orihove on Ukraine controlled territory. Most of the villagers want to be subordinated to Hirske City Council located near Orihove and we will do that by Ukrainian Parliament resolution. After that resolution Orihove will became Ukrainian not only in fact as it is now, but also in law. And villagers will be able to freely go through checkpoints and get all needed docs in Hirske city.
